Consultancy
Advice and project management.
A range of support and expertise to help you produce accessible content more consistently.
About consultancy
We understand that every public sector body is in a different position when it comes to web accessibility. We also know what life is like in-house on the client side - that's where we've come from - so we get that your resources and time (and, sometimes, organisational buy-in) may be limited.
We'll try to understand your situation, the resources available to you and what your publishing process looks like, to help you develop a realistic roadmap to achieve and maintain a higher standard of accessibility.
To get closer to compliance you may need a remedial strategy to review and repair non-compliant content published since September 2018.
You may also need to work out how to bake accessibility into your processes so that you can produce compliant content consistently in the future.
Whatever your situation, we can help you review and assess your performance so that you can understand the overall challenge and decide what approaches suit your organisation.
Importantly, we don't look at accessibility from a purist perspective - religiously ticking every box and sweating over the minutia. We try to identify clear priorities, target big wins, and offer pragmatic solutions that you can impose in-house without relying too much on specialist support and ongoing subscriptions or consultancy fees.
Responsibility for compliance in the public sector tends to sit with comms teams - but they rarely have the leverage to make more than a superficial impact on compliance.
We try to work across both communications and governance teams to embed the organisational frameworks needed for long term success.
